An Unexpected Partaaay!

So, I have started a blog.  I am instantly realizing that it is quite difficult to begin a blog without sounding like another one of the billion beginning bloggers out there. Heck, even that sounded cliche... and maybe that too?  Well, to stop while I'm behind, I will just begin by introducing myself.

My name is Benjamin Barger. I am currently enrolled in Georgia Perimeter College's Engineering AS program, and I simultaneosly work as a veterinary technician at my father's vet clinic in Roswell, GA.  My current short-term life goal is to finish school at either Southern Poly Tech or Georgia Tech. Which of the two schools depends on a plethora of criteria, the most obvious of which are scholastic ability and money, however, I am of the opinion that if it is meant to be, it will happen, whatever "it" ends up being.

My hobbies include many different things, but the primary ones are outdoor activities (mountain biking, rock climbing, etc), long-range shooting, messing with electronics, music, and a few other things. All of these, of course, are only practiced when time and will power permit (except for music, that's pretty much always on). I am also a big thinker. I realize this sounds a bit pretentious, but I think all humans have the ability to think, but few realize their thoughts and opinions as what they are: tools to learn with and fuel to progress with. I know too many people (myself included) that stifle thoughts and feelings, a sad situation which all-too-often leads to large, loud people having all the say in things. Sadly, a blog by a quiet person is not the answer to this epidemic, but hey, it's something.

Other important things to know about me include my world view and core beliefs, but instead of just dumping a bunch of that here, I will simply leave you with the fact that I am a Christian (read: I believe Christ is the Son of God and that he, indeed, died and rose again for the salvation of all who follow him), and I am more or less a "constitutional conservative". What does the later mean? Well, pretty much what it sounds like, but as I said, I'm only planning on giving out titles for now. If you want to know more about how and what I believe, stay tuned, because that will be the primary topic of most of my posts here, along with a healthy amount of fun and nonsense to be sure.

As for a goal or theme for this blog, I will have to see how it goes first. Most likely it will pertain to my random thoughts and observations about life and world around me, but I may find an interesting niche theme to run with. Who knows?.. don't answer that, it was rhetorical.

And with that, I will end my introduction post.
